5 POINTS 100 TREES 5/1/11

Join us this Sunday for our 5 POINTS 100 TREES installation. As our launch of the Curating Vacancy project series, we will begin the process of seeding an urban apple orchard dispersed in Denver’s Five Points area. This project, with a two-fold aim of growing a long-term community resource and initiating dialogue around the local issue of vacancy, has already generated a heated debate, informal community organizing and lots of ideas and concerns.

Many thanks to Denver’s Office of Cultural Affairs, late Congresswoman Carla Madison, Slowfood Denver, Steve Shepard, Dr. RenĂ©e Cousins, our friends and neighbors in Five Points, and collaborators.

DRAWN + QUARTERED 5/20/10

Drawn + Quartered was MONGO’s event installation at Redline Gallery for Act III of artist Rori Knudtson’s Lost Suppers installation. A good time was had by all (except the goat). This was a collaboration between MONGO, Rori Knudtson and Jaime Carrejo’s ceramics students at the Rocky Mtn. College of Art and Design. See more photos on our Facebook page.

DIGISCAN 5/06/10

Maymester will soon be underway with Digital Scandinavia 2010, a hybrid Maymester/Summer Study Abroad class by Ken Renaud of MONGO and artist Rori Knudtson. We will be collaborating with Onesto Mong in Copenhagen to design and install a public intervention in Kay Fiskers Plads, Ă˜restaden, Copenhagen.
